    Antec Earthwatts 650w vs OCZ 600w Stealth Xstream.

    I can get the Earthwatts for £64.51, and the OCZ 600w for £53.

    Which is the better choice? The Earthwatts gets some amazing reviews, both for performance and build quality. But supposedly the OCZ one has a slightly poor build quality (poor capacitors/soldering) but above average performance. Is the extra £11 worth it?

    Earthwatts
    Pros:

    * very good voltage regulation
    * high efficiency
    * quiet
    * well built

    Cons:

    * only adequate ripple and noise suppression

    OCZ Xstream

    Pros:

    * Excellent DC voltage regulation
    * Quiet during normal operation
    * Supports SATA an PCI-E
    * Dual 4 Pin CPU connectors
    * Sleeved Cables
    * Three year exchange warranty

    Cons:

    * Lack of SATA connectors - three isn’t enough
    * Failure to meet its quoted minimum efficiency of 85%
    * Use of poor quality electrolytic capacitors

    I would go for the OCZ power supply as it is excellent value for money at the price.

    TBH I would look at getting the Corsair VX550W over both of them.

    So it would out perform the OCZ Stealth? Could it handle SLi?

    Depends on what cards you are having in SLI though as some need two PCI-E power connectors per card! The TX 650w PSU maybe also worth a look too although it only has two PCI-E power connectors too like the VX550W IIRC.

    Check this comparison of the HX520W and the VX550W:

    I have to ask, you're certain you need a 650W unit? What hardware is going in this PC? Most people that buy 700W ish PSUs would do fine with a 400W for £40 :S
