Hey i want to upgrade my old computer to a new better gaming computer. I have made a list which i think is good but havnt included a motherboard becuase i dont know much about them so so i come here for help. also i dont need a moniter as i currently have a 22" 1680x1050 resolution moniter.
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 BlackEdition - £145.92

you can change the list to make it better if you want but try not to go too much over the £600 budget.

If the rig you are building is purely for gaming and you want to go down the AMD route you could ditch the quad core and get a duel core cpu such as the AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition for £74.75 and put the remaining money into a motherboard. I don't think there are too many games that will take advantage of 4 cores at the moment although this will change in the future. With a good motherboard you could easily get the overclock to bring it above a 955 clock with less heat being produced.

Might have to source motherboard from elsewhere though as scan seem to be having problems getting that board in stock. I think Dabs has it for $74.

Seems like a very good build, perhaps consider a graphics card with a non-stock cooler like the sapphire vapor-x or similar?
