Ai chihuahua, how hot, to say it needs an aftermarket cooler is a slight understatement, i know they run hot but jeebus.When the core voltage was improved to 1.2V, Core i5-750 can achieve 3.6GHz (200MHz*18), but the core temperature was around 90℃, so this is not ideal for a long-term run. It’s essential for overclockers to change for the third-party cooler.

Anyway by the time I can afford a new desktop again probably AMD will have Bulldozer out(if they are still around).
Bulldozer will be here, just hope (and effin pray for that matter) it isnt as bad as the Phenom/Athlon's during the Core 2 juggernaut and that it actually competes well with Intels offering.

1600x1200 is slightly more demanding than 1680x1050, old it may be, but since as pointed out, a lot of people still use 1680x1050, I don't see the issue.

Same here. They may not be hugely popular with enthusiasts building high-end machines but they are very popular in server and pre-built markets. There mid-range CPUs are also great.
I thought the Nahelam EX had trolled the Opterons in the server space now though ? Although pricing even in that space could be an issue.
