Best Headset (No more than £70)

I'm looking for a headset that will provide superior comfort, sound quality on both input and output. I'm not really big on AV equipment, so I don't really have grounding knowledge in the best products.

Hit me with what you've got.

However they are open backed meaning there will be some sound leakage when you use them.

As in you want a microphone attached to it? Seriously, with that kind of budget, just get separates... you'll be far happier. I am.

What about the new Roccat Kave 5.1 headset? its £76.99 on scan.

I must admit, I've not really been impressed by any headset from a SQ perspective compared to headphones £10-20 cheaper (to take into account the mic). Nor have I found 5.1 headphones I've tried particularly impressive. I do see the value of headset though, a separate mic on the table takes space, and I've not seen anything that you can seemingly attach to a proper pair of headphones. I have a Creative Fatal1ty headset that I've picked up for £20. It's not bad, I am happy using it for VoIP and multi-player gaming. When a mic is not required though (single player games), pretty much all my headphones are better though. There is a review (one only!) on youtube of the Roccats; they look really comfy and the construction of the actual ear cup inside looks like a logically sound (< ha!) idea in contrast to other true 5.1 headsets. They also have an attached mic which is always better because it doesnt break off easily like the Tritton models/the Sharkoon X-tactic, plus the mic can my lifted up to move completely out of the wearer's sight. I think i'm going for a pair.....unless someone can talk me out of them? :baby:

I reccomend a SteelSeries Siberia V2

I use it for LAN's and they are really comfortable even after you have them on for 5+ hours straight.

About the microphone, it doesnt have a "stick" mic like most headsets but rather one you clip on to your shirt or w/e

These own. Worth the extra £15.

running with a pair of speedlink medussa's, had them for the last couple of years, very comfy and the sound excellent & see no need to change just for the sake of it.

only two points i'd raise are - i wish the headband on them (and on nearly every other set of cans) was adjustable as when i get the barnet mullered they're quite loose.

also the volume wheels on the can change quite easy - i use a small bit of masking tape (use this as it soesn't leave a sticky residue like others) to stop them and leave the volumes where i set them.
