    Psu <£30

Friend just had his PSU start to make lots of bad whirring sounds. I'm guessing it needs replacing.

Needs 20 pin and 4 pin connectors for motherboard and the rest standard 4 pin (not SATA power) power connectors. About 4 minimal I think.

£30 budget. What's a good choice for him?

    Thanks

I would look at this Silverpower 400w PSU:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/400w-...ed-cooling-fan

Silverpower and Tagan are owned by the same company.

Begging everyone's pardon for sounding like a broken record, how about the Antec Basiq 350W. Has 4 molex connectors, 1 SATA, 1 FDD, 20+4 pin main connector and a 4pin ATX 12v.

EDIT: to give my comment some balance, you could also go for this BeQuiet 350W, but it only has 3 Molex (does have 4 SATA though, for future expansion )

He doesn't care about future expansion, this is just to tide him over a few months until he bullies/persuades his parents to get him a new one

I'll link him to the thread and he can decide

I cant see it being much good for throwing, spears are normally longer and more pointy.

    Re: Psu <£30

Depends on what this is all powering but a 20pin and 4pinmother board and just molex, I'm guessing a p4 socket478 and 6series graphics card, or amd / ati of round the same time
any half decent 350w will be fine.
the Be quite or silverpower would be a good choise
