Internal bolt-in drive cages...

My case was heavily modded when I fitted the watercooling and the internal 3.5" drive cage was practically ruined by the work that I had to do (it was already flimsy before i cut a chunk out of it )

Looking at some of the cases around at the moment I was wondering if anyone has seen any of the internal cages that you see in cases (ideally with the easy slide-in trays) that I could bolt into my case in replace of what is there currently.

They would have to bolt through from the bottom of the case, 4-5 drives (3.5") stacked vertically.


And I don't really want to buy an entire case just to rip a small part out of

The 5.25" > 3.5" bay converters won't work, I only have a max 5" wide space to fit them unfortunately.

Spent hours at the weekend looking around and come up blank, guess it's time to look at cases but seems a waste to buy a case just to rip a cage out of it

I've got one you could have, it's out of a chieftec case
It's only designed to hold 2 drives, it's basically just a metal box with a latch on the top
To actually mount it wouldn't be that easy as your case would lack the metal tabs it uses to latch onto.

I'll take a photo of it if you're intrested.

EDIT: You could make one, a hard drive cage it is just a metal box with some holes in it.

How about this? Also the 2 drive version.

I bought the two drive version to create a HDD bay on the bottom of a case a while ago, just drill two holes on the of the brackets and then 4 holes in your case.

You could get two sets of the two bay brackets, bolt on one set as described above and then piggy back the second one off the fixed set (which the product was designed for).

Only problem is they're expensive for what is essentially two small sheets of aluminum with holes in em, maybe other shops stock them for cheaper?

Could you supply us with a picture of the damage? Its difficult to know what to recommend with knowing the exact hole to plug.
