Ok, so they are 92mm from top right to bottom left corner of the fan, but how long are they from top left to bottom left, ect.

'92mm' fans are actually 130mm from corner to opposite corner. The sides are 92mm, not the diagonal.

i.e.

Top right to bottom left = 130mm*
Top left to bottom left = 92mm

Yes... fans are square - giving the diagonal dimension of the fan would just be silly.

Hiper Cooling do a thin 80mm (15mm thick) which is handy for sides of cases but no sign of any 92mm on their site.

The size is as has been said the length of the edge of the frame, the Blade diameter is usally slightly smaller.
Just measured an 80mm fan, blade diameter was 74mm approx
case fan thickness tends to come in 3 standard sizes, 15mm, 25mm and 38mm. 25mm is the most common, with 15mm and 38mm being far harder/fewer to find.
Scythe also make good 15mm fans.
Iin the Antec p180 the tri-cool fan that is in the lower psu cell is a 38mm x 120mm fan

Pob255 where abouts are these 15mm fans from Scythe, their site doesn't list any and the only reference was to a 100mm 15mm fan that was just designed for vga and chips. I'm interested as they're good to mount on the side of cases and I've never seen a 120mm one.

Pretty cool for a 12mm fan, I have an 80mm custom fitted on my side atm but the airflow isn't great (21.24cm at 19db) Interestingly those specs for the Scythe fans show that their quietest fan is actually less efficient than the 15mm Hiper fan. Guess it proves that 3mm makes a difference, or so the ladies say.

As to air flow and sound levels, always take these numbers with a pinch of salt.
There's no standard tests for ether CFM or dB and there's so many factors that can change the resaults, that it's impossible to just rely on manufactors numbers.

All fans have some base factors in common.
higher rpm = more air flow = more noise
Blade size, shape & number also effect sound and air flow how much by is very hard to tell
Same goes for baring & motor noise
But I've always found the biggest factor to be speed, a cheaper slower fan will generally be more quiet than a faster more expensive fan.
Although really cheap fans have other issues that make them really bad and break that general rule.

If they are anything like the S-FLEX then you have to have your ear next to the 800rpm model to hear it, but it will move very little air.
I'd look at the 1200rpm model for still very quiet but better air flow.

The other thing to consider is fan grill/vent, the air being moved through the grill/vent can generate quite a bit of noise and vibration but it's self
