Re: Recommend me a quality keyboard & mouse please

Ok, well firstly i'll post a brief collection of what i've found so far, for anyone who finds this thread in the future:

A general guide on keyboards and mice: IT Reviews.
'The Register's' list of 12 best mice. (June 09)
Extremetech's best mice for different purposes. (Dec 2006)
'The Independant' newspaper's online section does a similar thing.
Digital Trends' mice & keyboards section

    Microsoft's products page
    Logitech's.

I'm off to Scan to check out some prices

Re: Recommend me a quality keyboard & mouse please

    Right, order has been placed.

    Logitech MX1100 for £34, from ebuyer. Reviews here: 1 2 3 4 5.

    Logitech Illuminated Keyboard for £44 from ebuyer. Reviews 1 2 3 4.

I post back my own thoughts when they arrive. Only real negative point was since i wanted good value, i skimped on postage, so in order to get free delivery i have to wait 5 days... oh well, that's being a cheapskate for you

Re: Recommend me a quality keyboard & mouse please

at the mo i own a G15, G19 and DiNovo.

the DiNovo is ment for the HTPC but is being used on my laptop as i broke the keyboard, the G15 is hooked to the HTPC via a USB extender, and the gaming rig now has the G19 attached.

I love all 3 and would buy any one of them again, although the G15 is now dated compared to the G19

DiNovo is very quiet though, battery seems to last for a couple of months

using apple keyboard and mx1100. they're pretty good for me. the keyboard is small and low profile. the mouse uses AA battery I like this rather than re-chargeable Li-on one.(I always forget to charge.)

Logitech G5 and HP Modular Keyboard here (the most comfortable for typing I've ever used). It's not very quiet tho.

Re: Recommend me a quality keyboard & mouse please

I'm a bit down on cordless mice and keys except for media PCs, I just find the whole battery thing annoying... although mice with charging cradles are the exception, but whether than is worth the cost is another matter.

Am rather fond of my simple RX1000 laser mouse, and I used to like my old MX700 - I'd buy Logitech again, and their laser stuff.

Keys wise, any decent Logitech or Microsft job would do fine, I'm just using an Internet 350at the moment, not too noisy even with my less than light touch, and they are cheap enough I don't mind buying a new one once a year.

Most important thing is that it suits you, if it feels right it'll game better than a 6000dpi mouse that feels horrible

Re: Recommend me a quality keyboard & mouse please

I picked up a Logitech s520 bundle for £30 from pc world. I dont use the mouse (saving it for a rainy day).

Its quiet and functional. Not very shiny though. But am making more use of the hot keys than my old logitech.
