How do I setup Multiple Monitors for a Day Trading / Gaming Computer?
I would like to setup three or four monitors on my computer. I want the screens to have individual properties but also be connected in a panoramic fashion. Can I add more video cards or should I get a ready made unit that supports several monitors? If so, where's a good place to look for one?

Expensive way to do it:

It would be cheaper to get another graphics card from the same company the existing one in your machine has as both ATI and Nvidia have multi-monitor tech.

by default when you add more monitors windows automatically extends the desktop onto them. to have more than 2 monitors you would likely need to add another video card. it is recommended that you buy a card that is similar or same to your current video card. by default unless the game has special provisions for it most games will only use one monitor and windows will blank/turnoff the others. if you want to game across multiple monitors you will need something like a Matrox dualhead2go and there are limitations on how this can be used.

I would strongly consider driving some of the monitors for a different computers there is nothing like having your computer freeze up at the wrong time for giving you a trading day! What I do is connect all my computers through a central KVM, so the computer I am typing on is the one right in front of me. Then drive second cloned displays or use a display doubler to drive two monitors. There are devices called matrix kvms which are good too. however I only bother with 2 display at the same time, and PIP bloomberg in the corner.

Or do it in software using something like Synergy. Only problem is with such a solution there a server which must remain on all the time.

It would be better to have two rigs one with a multi monitor setup for your daytrading and the other for gaming. or you will only have OS problems and you don`t want that to happen in the middle of a trade. quick low cost option two graphic cards with dual dvi`s. = 4 monitors.
