You've got to be kidding, but I'm all for it, hopefully cheap Intel Quads!
Where'd you find all this, don't you sleep? What do you dream in your sleep, all hardware related thoughts?
I had to ask?
By the way, the Baltar's quote, I take it it's from Battlestar Galactica? Correct me, I never did watch it all, need to get the full boxset.
The quote is from the final series of BSG and it was just a hilarious scene.
However, the ending of the series seemed rushed and TBH and was a bit rubbish and underwhelming IMHO. A new prequel series called Caprica is out soon(the pilot has been broadcast) but I don't know if I can be bothered to watch it after the craptastic ending of BSG. The only part which was handled well IMHO was conclusion of Starbuck's story.
I hope Lost has a good ending as series 5 is great and at least there is more Stargate too for some light sci-fi action.
Oh yeah, back to the topic, the Q7600, any idea on pricing, presume it's a quad for cheap?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Agreed, this was my thinking. I already thought the Q8200 was dear for what it was but i suppose it would be reasonable for offices etc, which is probably the case for the 7600 - but depending on how much is charged for it this could be a decent Bang for the buck processor no? You know how high those Pentium Dual-Cores could clock id expect these to do the same

Well the Athlon II X2 quad cores should also be released in the near future too. These "cheap" quad cores should be fine for normal usage like for example encoding of home movies for example. Also these quads may actually start finding themselves in budget desktop replacement notebooks too if their TDPs are not too high.

cpu with what equates to 512kb per core, this sounds more like celeron kinda spec
yer, i was running a E2180 at 3Ghz before I bought my Q6700, was a good little processor, but just not enough for the research I was doing at the time
