I have been using a Scythe Mine Rev B since I got my Q6600 and have easily OC'd to 3.6GHz, though lately dropped it back to 3GHz as I didnt need the extra juice.
I used Artic Silver themal paste as well....
Cat's suggestion looks good though, and is cheaper than the Scythe cooler.
The AK-967 sure does look good for the price, I've got one being delivered tomorrow and will be overclocking the C2D E5200. Will let you know how it goes..
i would go with a prolimatech Megahalem, currently the best air cooler available and is 1366 capable, and also isn't as expensive as a TRUE.
yea, I was looking at that one before, had really good reviews. but would you recommend i add a fan to it?
I've got the Akasa Nero 967 on a Q6700 overclocked to 3.4Ghz, keeps things nice and cool and quiet!
I bought it on the bases of the frostytech review and the fact that of all the many coolers they have reviewed, it was (at the time) in the top 10 for cooling and top 10 for noise.
1 standard fan btw ;)
Looks a decent cooler, didn't know it performed well.
How much are you looking to spend koldjg?
Freezer 7 pro can be had for around £15 though cant it ?
The Akasa Nero also has multiple mounting brackets too. IMHO it looks great for the money.
QFE.
I'd say if you're sticking to any kind of budget go for the Nero because the difference between the performance of it and the 'Megahalems' is gonna be minimal. The only thing I dislike about it is that aesthetically it looks quite 'simple' - in my case it didn't matter because i'm using the Antec 300 (no window).
I'd say £40 my max. And I'm not looking for something cheap but It's gotta be worth the extra spend. The AK-967 does look pretty decent but just wondering if there's anything better out there since it came out.

I've been using the Big Typ 120 VX for the last year and a bit, chip clocked to a comfortable 3Ghz, though I had to reseat it once, probably due to the fact this was my first build and I wasn't sure how tight was "tight" (turns out it means OMG I can't undo the screws again)
