Probably onto the USB headers (block of about 8 pins)
Rusholme is right is probably a usb connector, the block on the board will looks something like this.
Unless your card reader has a polarized to support this, you need to take care how you connect it up, please refer to your mother board manual for the correct pin out. It should be as below. If you have single pins make sure you plug them in right, if its a 4 pin connector make sure the plug is right way round, with +5 in pin 1Code:**
**
**
**
.*
1 = +5VCode:1a 1b
2a 2b
3a 3b
4a 4b
. *
2 = USB -
3 = USB +
4 = 0v (ground)
. = No pin
* = NC/Screen
Use either all the a or all the b connectors. Note each location supports 2 usb devices not one.
well i know that the connector(from the SD card reader) (female) has 5 holes on bottom and 3 on top (other 2 are blocked) like this
_000_
00000
but on the mother board I only saw male slots like this (as oolon said)
_l l l l l
l l l l l l
5 on bottom but 4 on top
How does it work out?
Again, it's like the 15-in-1 memory card reader, just tell me what the slot on the mobo should look like(pictures appreciated)
Thnx alot
Could you do a picture of that plug from your SD card, not sure what it is from your ascii art.
This it but my connector has 8 pins not 9 like this one(top left is blocked like top right also), that's why i dont get how it could plug in

Are there no headers on your motherboard that match that layout? The other missing pin if for +5v and it's understandable if it's missing since two power cables aren't needed for a low power device like a card reader. You could try installing it on the edge of a USB header ie so just one side of the plug is connected but be careful or orientation. This should be OK as the card reader should only be using one USB connection - probably the side with all the pins, or the one with wires connected. See if this makes any sense to you: on the motherboard header there will be a pin missing at the top - that's for ground so line up the plug so the red wires are at the bottom ie the other end of the missing pin. Keep it the same way up and move it off to one side so you can install it. Just double check the red wires are the opposite end of the missing pin on the motherboard.
Well i just realized that apparently my reader is connected =/ and working fine, but coming from the same area in my case is the connector I'm talking about, I don't know what it's for or where it goes? I can't see it's source, it's on top of my cd/dvd drives can't see there
