I was dismantling some old pc that was left in a new house a few years ago and found this:

Is it worth any money or anything, or isit something i should just throw in the bin?

Give it to someone via Freecycle. Postage costs would be greater than the value of it, but whether someone would pay more than the value of it on eBay depends on the whether it is a full moon and whether it's in alignment with whichever stars.
You'd be surprised - there are a fair number of CPU collectors out there!
If it is worth something, let me know, I've got a stack of them :)

Not just collectors, there's a few major infrestructure system that still rely on older tech and as these chip are no longer made fleabay has actually become a major source for spares.Quote:

I threw away a year ago 3 Pentium 2 based PCs with the 250ish MHz CPUs. However I saved their 3GB Hard Disks (you never know when they may come in handy)! I also just cleared out the loft and threw away a PC with an Intel 4040 chip in it!! I feel such an idiot! :wallbash:
I frew out an old fully functional Pentium MMX PC about 8 months ago, hope that that was not worth anything:(
