    V351 => SG03 > SG02 > SG01

You should have a look at the SG03, its very small, smaller than it looks and offers far better cooling than the SG02.

Someone on Hexus built an I7 system in an SG02 recently but because of high temps moved it to a better case.

So do you think I should go with SilverStone over Lian-Li?

    Re: ~*Best Micro ATX case & Motherbaord*~

The Lian Li probably has better build quality; I think it would come down to preference. Compare the measurements of the cases and decide, I know some people have done a watercooled SG03, and a watercooled Lian Li V300.

That makes me want to buy one of their systems for just the case.

I've forgotten they are part of HP, I loved one of HP's other case designs, will look for it later but this is very nice also.

Best of luck in your search/build.

Edit: Yes, it was the HP Blackbird 002!
Edit2: If you do go down the fabrication route please keep us informed, would love to see.

Nothing to stop you self building (other than time, money and skill of course)

    Re: ~*Best Micro ATX case & Motherbaord*~

For an SFF build it would be more sense to go with the Core i5 which consumes less power and has very similar performance in applications to a Core i7 in applications which are not highly multithreaded. The Core i5 should be cheaper too and is being released at the beginning of September.

    Re: ~*Best Micro ATX case & Motherbaord*~

I would aggree. A Core i5 is probably gonna be a better idea in such a small space. With its lower TDP, it should cope better in the cramped space.

And hell, even if you do go with i7, still wait for the new i7's & i5's.

    Re: ~*Best Micro ATX case & Motherbaord*~

    Hi ,

It was me who did the same thing in the silverstone sg02 case here : http://forums.hexus.net/chassis-syst...-feasible.html

It is also true that in the end due to the high temps I moved back to a full tower case. The heat was just too much and it began to restrict the system. I am not sure about the lian-li , it could be better layed out but the sg02 is very hard to get an air flow.
I mounted fans in every possible area , even extra ones on the external cpu side in a bid to extract the hot air. This did not work either. Basically one day when it was like 30degs the idle temps rose to a huge 60degs ! ! ! It was going into the high 80's and early 90's with only moderate usuage. This was the point where I thought about damage to the hardware. So i moved case and this completely cured the problem. It was in fact the SG02.

The only area i did not cover was a WC cpu cooler. I have a Corsair H50 on the way but since using the CoolerMaster690.

From my experience and what you want , if you are going small for sure and want it to work well with temps etc then avoid the I7. The i5 might be something to consider but i would do some more research before making the investment.
We all thought my build would be fine maybe slightly warmer than most but that was not the case. - no pun inteded ....

I wish you the best of luck ,, I will follow this thread from now on.

    Antec P180, or similair ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

The SG03/SG04-H + a Corsair H50 would be enough imo.
