1TB Hdd

Hello guys,

As a general move away from my Synology 106j A great NAS (but a bit weedy to run mail server on too, and the network transfer speeds aren't as good as I'd like).

I'm looking at building a new NAS solution and my question for you guys is as follows:

Which 1TB drive would you choose if low price/good performance/low power usage where the aim?
I'll spec the machine later, but the drive would come in rather useful now (I'm desperately short on storage space!)

Samsung EcoDrive F2 would be my choice.

I second that. Think they had the 1.5TB one which is what I have for around 70 quid on scan a while back. I have mine in a very poorly venitlated case and it runs at about 23 degrees. And it doesn't seem to suffer much of a performance hit being only a 5200rpm drive as opposed to 7200.

well, bought the Samsung Ecodrive F2 and is now being used for backup duties whilst I rebuilt my main rig. need to start spec-ing up my new NAS/HTPC! Thanks for all your help guys!
