    Good 2.1 speakers & earphones

    Hi everyone,

Please could I ask for your advice - I'm going to buy a new set of in-ear earphones for my iPhone and some 2.1 speakers for my desktop and I'm not sure what to go for.

For the earphones, I'd like to spend about £20 - £30ish. What would you recommend? I'm not bothered about losing the remote on the cable, just want to hear some decent quality music!

For the speakers, not really sure how much to spend but I do want them to sound good. I could push to £100 for some Z-2300s, but are they worth that much more than say, Sony SRSD211s at £50?

I'd be grateful for any opinions!

    Thanks, Tim.

Re: Good 2.1 speakers & earphones

For the 2.1 id recommend the logitech z4's as they are amazing for the price(£40 at currys/pcworld now) and outperform many speakers in high price ranges. Dont know how they compare to sony though.

For earphones id say take a look at the soundmagic pl50's, they are said to be amazing and you can get them for £33 at mp4nation next week when they come on sale. I have just purchased beta brainwavz from mp4nation which i got for £17.50 so when i get them(about a week) ill give you my opinion on them. Cx500's are available for £17 on play.com

I would look at the Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 speakers as they are around £107 at Ebuyer:

The speakers are not on stock currently on Ebuyer.

    Thanks guys.

Since the Aegos are out of stock at the moment, do you think it would be better to wait for them or go for the Logitech Z-2300, which can be had for about £99 delivered? Would the Aegos be significantly better?

    Thanks

+1 from me on these. Mine landed yesterday, not the best but for £25 they are worth it
