Question Anyone seen one of these before and got any thoughts?

Just had a mate ask me if this is any good and I had not heard of it before.

Tried to do a bit of a scope and came up a bit blank. The product is an Ipazzport wireless keyboard and mouse

Questions I wonder are: Is this the only kind of wireless remote device like this at this price?

Essentially he is trying to control the keyboard and mouse from the sofa (10 ' away) no gaming necessary just strictly for internet and messaging.

He is running winxp Pro but may well move to Win7 so drivers and updates are an issue if the company go bust. If anyone has used this or has a recommendation for another similar device post it up here so he has a few options

    Thanks in advance,

    BrOw

Well it says there are no drivers required, windows will just think it is a standard keyboard and mouse. After all, thats all it really is.

A regular wirless keyboard is cheaper: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Keyso...se-L-R-Buttons

Not used this (looks a tad expensive for what it is) but I have used other cordless mice and keyboards, and never had a problem with drivers on a variety of operating systems (Windows and Linux) so he should be OK.

Re: Anyone seen one of these before and got any thoughts?

Just to to what Peter has said, I've never had driver issues, but I have had quality issues.

I've finally jumped up the cost ladder and bought a Logitech diNovo Edge for my livingroom HTPC. I also have a MCE remote for it which is used mostly, but if I need to breakout a keyboard and mouse, I want one that works and doesn't feel like crap and looks good. So £100 was what I had to spend.

Re: Anyone seen one of these before and got any thoughts?

BTC make a couple of nice ones like the one Funkstar linked
One with the touch pad on the side and one with a little joystick type thing instead of a touch pad

Never used them so cannot say what they are like, BTC do make good keyboards, they are like Cherry where most of there stuff is ether OEM or made for industrial uses

Smile Re: Anyone seen one of these before and got any thoughts?

I bought one from a guy in Arizona office. The unit works pretty good. It really is plug and play. I have taken it on the road to make PPT presentations and it is really cool. The software that is bundled allows presenter to make all kinds of notes on each PPT screen and when you go to the next slide they erase. About the only trouble I have with it is that my 15 year old son keeps taking it to his bedroom so he can watch Internet TV from his bed. One other note, usually wireless keyboard only work a few feet away from the PC, this unit has incredible range, well over 30 feet from the PC/Projector. I can recommend this unit.

Yes, this keyboard is great. I think it in another shopping mall which is much cheaper, just US$40
