Compatibility
I'm having issues with a potentially faulty motherboard, but I'd like to double check the compatibility of all the components.
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz
RAM - 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Dominator DDR3 1600mhz
GPU - XFX HD 4890 1GB
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P
HDD - Western Digital 750GB WD7500AADS
PSU - 620W Coolermaster Real Power M620 Modular PSU SLi
DVD - Samsung SH-S223L/BEBE
I have an issue where the power LED on the PSU will not even light up, and i have tested the PSU using the shorting trick and a fan to make sure it works. Making me think the motherboard is faulty at a power connection somewhere.
Cheers, iKiX

Re: Compatibility
I the psu will start up by shorting the correct pins on the 24pin lead, then yes it does sound like it's the motherboard, but it could be something else.
You can try powering it up with just the cpu in the motherboard and nothing else, if that works (you'll get bleeps from the speaker and fan will start to spin)
then add 1 stack of ram and try again
if that works try adding the graphics card, if it didn't work try 1 ram stick in a different memory slot.
Basically systematic trial and error untill you find the fault.

Re: Compatibility
Does the 24-pin connector feel loose at all? Is it fully in - it can sake some force so ensure it's flush and the clip is engaged.
