    (sorry for late reply)
I said that about my old mice at 3200/3600 dpi but after using for like 2 days i was used to it and no one could use my mouse at lans! I had max on windows mice options and on the mouse, which is alot compared to my mates with alot less dpi (1800 ).

Right, the x8 seems great but as mentioned my budget is £30 and that mouse is around £49(at novatech, cheapest including del), now the problem i have is i can and cant justify it. I had a g15 and sold it as im downgrading most things and want to save on cash so spending a similar amount on a mouse as a keyboard seems to much for me, however i do love the mouse and i really want it which is why im still debating about getting it!.

Had the fireglider, good mouse but i felt like a change and was planning on moving to wireless (that didnt happen!).

G5, dont like the design scheme and seems a bit expensive for what it has (wired/2000dpi). Mx518 is great but my mate has it and so id want something different and also dpi could be a bit to low for me!.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, more choice is appreciated!.

Umm the G5 is basically the new version of the mx518, same shape moved the wheel forward slightly so both buttons are behind it.
Changed it from optical to laser which as I said before laser mice work on a far greater range of surfaces compaired to optical and it's slightly higher dpi
Also the wheel is a side tilt one so you push it left or right for two extra buttons/functions
All that for just £5 more than the mx518

I like the look and shape of that sharkoon mouse, but the functions are basically the same as my A4tech X-750BF and cycleing through speeds is a right pain.
the triple fire button is a nice idea but never really works.

EDIT: just looked at the tweektown review
    http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/278...use/index.html
Looks better than my A4tech X-750BF as you can adjust the dpi for each mode in software, the A4tech X-750BF is hardware locked dpi or you can set it in the software but then it's fixed dpi

Alli'm saying is that the x8 is the only viable wireless option. And its definitely worth the money. I should know, I bought it at launch for 100 euros (£88!). I regret nothing, it's a fine mouse.

If we go by the only mouse 'benchmark' that I know of, the MX518 actually a better choice than the G5: http://www.esreality.com/?a=longpost&id=1265679&page=22 (too bad those benchmarks are no longer being made).

Have you held the X8? If you can't afford to get it wrong, then you definitely want to do more than just look at it. The way I see it though, the X8 is the cheaper of the two wireless gaming mice available (the Razer Mamba is the other option).

If the X8 feels as good as it looks to you, then I suggest that you go for it, and spend a week on eating canned of beans. You'll may get a nagging feeling that you should've bought it with anything else. And if you find out that it's just another mice, then stick to your budget.

I've only ever really had two decent gaming mice, the first was the Reaper mouse from Ideazon a few years back, unfortunately my brother broke it last year so it got replaced by the Razer DeathAdder which I still use today although it just doesn't has the same feel the Reaper had and its a lot bigger by comparison still a good mouse and worth a look although I don't know what they retail for right now so it might come in over your budget,
