    New PSU

Ok, so I'm upgrading my graphics card, likely to be either a gtx 260, 275, hd 4890, or a 5850. My current PSU is this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124922

and whilst shiney, I'm not sure I'd trust it to power a system any more serious than mine. I'll also be looking for the new PSU to power my next build which will be in 18 months - 2 years time.

I was thinking about getting this: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/550w-...anty-see-specs

Corsair's PSU finder reckons that it would power pretty much any single card system even with an oc'd i7 + 2 hdds.

Does this seem like a reasonable choice (given that I'll won't be using crossfire/SLI), or should I be looking at something else? I wouldn't want to pay too much more if I can help it.

    Re: New PSU

Yeah that PSU should be fine, a good choice IMO. If you want plenty of overhead and are willing to spend more you could go for a 620w supply but that would be overkill really.
Also if you want a modular PSU, which is your choice really - for tidiness/improved airflow, then Corsair do a HX line. If you are looking for other MFRs to consider, Enermax, some Antecs and Be Quiet are just some up there with Corsair.
    Hope this helps!
