    SG02-F Advice

Thinking of getting one of these for my media / lan box but need advice from current users.
Basically it would need to have a silent CPU cooler in it and preferably one that doesn't vent the air through the CPU, so something that blows air out the back.
Difficult thing here would be that eventually it will house a Q9450 CPU, now this is currently in my main rig and I have found out that it can be undervolted whist mildly clocked so it should put out a little less heat that normal but my worry is it would still be a lot for a cooler that needs to be small.
    Any ideas?

    Re: SG02-F Advice

If I am honest, my advice would be to get another case, unless its going to be a low end system that generates little heat/noise.

It’s definitely not a case for the high end systems, no matter what other people may tell you.

If you want a SFF have a look at the slightly larger alternatives by Lian Li or Silverstone.

    Re: SG02-F Advice

Ideally I want a shuttle but I have the components now and this case would take everything, what makes you say its not for high end components? apart from the CPU cooler issues its fine in my book, sure it wouldn't be any good if overclocking is to be done but for a stock clocked CPU and GPU I cant see a issue?

    Re: SG02-F Advice

Check this thread for example - http://forums.hexus.net/chassis-syst...-feasible.html

Then check google, and soon you will realise people are just not happy with their temps, you either put in a lot of effort into it and make it work, or just use something else.

That said, with some low heat emitting components you should be fine, but again, that means no high end stuff.

The majority of people I see on other forums with high end components usually have the top of the case removed - looks ugly, what’s the point in that?

    Re: SG02-F Advice

i7 I can understand, im only thinking of a Core 2 quad with a low power 9800 GT, 55nm GTX 260 tops, I think it can be done.
    Going to investigate further.

    Re: SG02-F Advice

definitely dont get this case, i have one but replaced it with a lian li 350 after it overheated 2 gfx cards and 1 motherboard, its fine for a htpc low spec pc but any sort of gaming gfx card and the heat just builds up too quickly in the case
