How knowledgeable are your rents and how ethical are you?

Anyhow, I would value that system at about £235 including monitor. See my breakdown above.

    Btw is that a socket 939 x2?

    Re: PRICECHECK: Complete System

Or keep it if it's decent let them use the onboard sound, which they would probably be happy with.

Depends on what they plan to use it for, if it's the normal office+internet+e-mail
I'd say £235 to £250 would be best.
PS if that's a non-widescreen monitor then that's a very good monitor for them, esp for thoes who's eye sight is starting to weaken.

yeh i thought that about the monitor - they would def be better with it than a widescreen for their use. And i already have an external soundcard for my main rig

    Re: PRICECHECK: Complete System

Kids these days, eh? My parents have one of my old systems each, difference is, I just gave the systems to them. Seems kinda cheeky to gleefully accept all those free holidays and free board and free food and christmas and birthday presents for all those years and then to ask £200 for a 3 year old system.

    Re: PRICECHECK: Complete System

well its not exactly that its because im giving them the monitor i use currently so there giving me the cash to replace it, in exchange for the whole package - works out well for both of us

    Edit: Im also a student!

Not just the non-wide screen but the larger dot size of the 19" makes it very good, go up to a larger monitor means a jump in res that means the actual pixels are smaller.
