I NEED a new keyboard ADVICE!!

so finally yesterday after about 4 years of use my logitech g15 version 1 has died it lights up but every single key is dead.

So i need a new keyboard was wondering whats good at the minute

first i'll say i dont like the razer keyboards keys are too similar to a laptop and not keen on the saitek II

so far the only things i've seen of interest are the

Logitech g15 version (like it but its just not as nice as the original)
Logitech G11 (butchered g15 with no display)
Saitek Cyborg (looks nice not sure on the metal gaming keys)

Any other suggestions not including the G19 as my missus would flatten me for spending £124 on one

£55 delivered is about my upper limit!!

I'm currently using a Reclusa and have been for a while.

I didn't need the LCD as my speakers carry all that info.

Get the g11 for £25 at pcworld now! Saves the budget and it should be a good keyboard, i loved my g15 but sold it and now found my old microsoft keyboard which is truely the best so dont need to get the g11 or else i would of .

I am using a Logitech LX710 and like it very much, the tactile response is wonderful for me and I got the KB/mouse package for £30.

My suggestion for keyboard choosing is to go to a shop and try a few keyboards out to see which is the most comfortable (and least likely to cause you bad RSI) - you don't need to buy from that shop if they're much more expensive than buying online (help the shop out if there's very little difference )

By the sounds of your needs though I think the G11 would be nice, unless you need the extra buttons the G15 provides.

Any of the Microsoft Keyboards

I am currently using a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 V3, and it really is one of the best I have ever used. Very very comfortable to type on, some useful shortcut keys (but not *too* many like some kbs), and the usual top end Microsoft Hardware build quality.

Of course does not have the advanced features like the screen etc, but in terms of being a computer keyboard, its very good

I've always maintained that keyboards & mice are entirely a personal preference, there's no point my telling you my Logitech G7 is the best mouse in the world if you try it and don't actually like the feel of it. I would never buy a keyboard from an online store 'blind' without having actually tried it out to see if it feels right for me first.

The only way to ascertain a 'good' keyboard for you is, as someone has already stated, go into somewhere like PCWorld that has plenty on display and have a go with them.

I have bought soooooo many keyboards in the pursuit of hapiness lol, currently using a G19 - which I like very much - even though the screen is quite a bit on the gimmiky side!

I also use a reclusa and before that I had an apple k/b and a saitek - which TBH was great for the money - but like the others have mentioned I would go down to PC world and try them out as you need to see what YOU like!

Either get another G15 or the cheaper G11. Look at how long your previous keyboard lasted .

I'm with r0xr - you need to try a few and see what feels right. I like the basic keyboards that come with HP machines even though they are oem and don't have any special features!

thats the problem i loved my g15 but the new one is just not as nice which swings me towards the g11 or saitek. the problem i have is g11 is no longer in stock online and my local pc world has none

Have you tried ringing logitech?

They're usually very good... even outside of warranty periods...

As a side note, i do very much like my Cyborg, it looks a bit... well like ass.. but it's nice to type and game on , but it's swings and roundabouts, what i like isn't necessarily going to be what you like...
