16/32gb flash drive - suggestions please!

    hi,

my 4gb cruzer titanium went kaput a month ago, and ive trundled along, not thinking id need a usb stick for a month or so, but anyhow, over the weekend, my PC crashed and I lost three presentations and the beginning of a clinical audit (a whole lot of work).

so, im in the market for fast cheap portable storage, at 16 or 32gb.

i dont know whether it is preferable to go down the microSD + adaptor (and then when bigger usb drives come out, ill still be able to use it), or just get a 16gb usb stick..

what to buy- i wouldve thought of getting another cruzer titanium, but tbh i dont fancy that sort of a premium, for an inferior product beneath the shell - if they just sold the shell, id take it with another more reliable memory stick..

so, what to buy, who to buy? which way to go ?!

There's no cure for backups - I guess you know that now - so whatever you buy you can't assume 'quality' will save you from data loss (stuff goes wrong - even the expensive drives die on occasion or get fried by a nasty USB port).

So go with what you're saying - fast/cheap and just get into the habit of backing it up

I use the play.com own branded ones. Cheap and so far no problems with any of them.

Bought the capped version of this Kingston 16GB a couple of months ago for £17.99 which at the time was cheapest around for a reliable brand (5 yr warranty):

    Hope that helps?
