    Damned PCI-e lane limitations!

Just re-built my TV server and discovered I can't use my two nice new Pinnacle 3010 dual tuner PCI-e cards because I have a PCIe 4x RAID card in the slot next to them and you can use the two 1x slots or the 4x slot.

grrrrrrrrrr! already swapped the motherboard with another system, really don't want to do that again, but might have to in the future

    That's not a PCI-e limitation, but a chipset / motherboard one

    Pain when it happens

I know, I just worded it wrong really.

    It's a pain that I can't fully populate the board. It's a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H.

I'll have to move one of the DVB-T cards to the other PCIe 1x slot and shelve the other tuner for the time being. Looking to fill the two PCI slots at the bottom with a couple of DVB-S2 cards.

Mate where'd you find those, they look brilliant, would say the only thing 'wrong' with them is that they could have had dual inputs! Any idea on pricing and availability in the UK?

Please PM me in regards to where you would be able to order them. Thanks!

After i posted the link, i discovered that they are limited to their built in CAM, and just accept a decoder card directly. Probably not much use in the UK.

The FireDTV S2 was the best card, but they have stopped production and gone bust recently.

Now just looking at the Hauppauge Nova-S and Nova-HD-S2

Both the "16x" lanes have Dell PERC 5/i RAID cards in them.

I say "16x" because the second one is just 4x bandwidth even though it will take a 16x card.

Shame, I'm also aware that FloppyDTV/FireDTV went bust recently.
