nice idea but that shuttle is just a very bare bones system, so just motherboard+case+cooler+psu
    Would still have to buy:
    hard drive
    dvd
    monitor
    mouse and keyboard

but it would of been a shuttle, should of posted sooner

What kind of value for money are you getting on a shuttle system like that? Of course the end result depends on what combo of components you add to it, but would it beat a full home build from scratch?

    Re: A strange build...

Basically a Shuttle, esp a barebones one like that, is a very small case(steel & aluminium)+custom motherboard+small psu(think thoes are custom to shuttle as well)+custom cooler
You then have to get standard memory+cpu+hard drive+optical drive to go in it.

Here's a video to show you what that one is like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0pnViRvXn0

We've got a couple of thoes at work, they are nice little systems and I like the combo cooler/case fan.
However it's not that cheap and if the motherboard or PSU dies then getting replacements is costly as they are non-standard.
