    hang on post PLEASE HELP

    just doing new build for brother

    gigabyte mobo ga p43 es3g
    windows 7 64 bit
    caviar black hhd
    corsair 400W
    9500GT 1GB
    e5300 cpu
    4GB ram

    built but hangs in windows after about 1 minute, hangs in memtest+ after about 1 minute (no overclock, akasa cooler), hangs generally after a minute whatever i do. tried re-installing but hangs during installation process

    everything is brand new, help!!

    I'd check the memory voltage / timings and manually set as per manufacturers recommended settings. Most mobo's default to 1.8v and depending on the memory you have bought it maynot be enough to be stable.

    If they are right check each stick individually in memtest, could be one is faulty.

    +1 on memory voltage. Initial indications (to me) to suggest RAM. As has been said, check timings & that they're running at the correct speed. It's not unknown for the BIOS to wrongly identify the ram & set it at the wrong speed (Hz & timings).

    hangs on both sticks, doesn't show any errors just hangs!!

    and checked voltages and timings, even loosened them slightly

    What memory is it exactly? Have you googled for any know issues with that mobo / memory combination? Its a long shot but have you tried different memory slots?

    ok guys cheers for help, swapped out sticks for old pair and works perfectly. just getting in contact with scan now to return/replace them
