    What P4 2.8/800 3.0/800 3.2/800 or 3.4/800

    Hi Guys,

My current specs below, I am looking to upgrade my dated 2.4/533 to a 800bus type.

My question to all out there money not being a object, would I notice a visable difference between 2.8-3.4 running at HT? Obviously I could clock the 2.8 to 3.4ish or 3.4 to possibly 4.0Ghz with my fan configuration.

But the big question!!!! Would I notice a difference if alls I do is play Vietcong and browse the net would my money be well spent.

How much of a increase would I see using 3dmark2003?

    Many thanks

    Pentium 4 2.4b/533
    EPOX 4PGAI 800 BUS Mobo
    1024MB PC3200/400DDR
    Excalibur Ice-Q 9800Pro
    120GB (IBM i think!) hard drive 2MB

If money is no object, personally I'd got for the 3.4, heh! At the end of the day its up to you how much money you spend tho.

You might notice a small increase in 2003.. but mainly 2001. 2003 is mainly gfx scored. whereas 2001 isnt. U would see a nice increase!

I used to be able to clock to 3.0/3.1 prior to purchasing my 9800pro. it might be connected to having a low PSU also, so I buying both at the same time, anyhow my p4 is 533 bus so is not HT so despite having Dual Memory, my bandwidth is not!!
    thx

    300watt!!! jeantech!!!

I purchased a 400Watt from PC world to try this out, but still no over 2.6 clocking, so not sure whats going on bar the fact that I have a new gfx card from my old GF4 MX44064MB!

Made sure you've got pci/agp lock on? Ati cards tend not to like going out of sync....
