Need advice on two things =]

First, I'd like a program I can moniter my hardware with, like CPU temperature ect. ANyone recommend a good one? (Vista x64)

And could anyone lead me in the right direction as to OCing a Q6600? I've been told its a very popular CPU to "edit" and can easily achieve at least a little more 'boomf'. Nothing too insane, I'm still using the default heatsink and fan!

    Thanks =]

I don't think I'll be doing this with my current fan, judging by my speedfan readings

However speedfan isn't always that good and can throw up lots of errounce (or whatever the word I ment is) readings.

According to speedfan my ambient temp is -128c I better put a jumper on.

As to over clocking, yes it's easy to do with core2 cpu's, one a the major facts that made them so good was the ease and amount of overclock you can get out of them.

Download a copy of the Intel Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT) not only will it let you stress test your cpu but it gives pritty accurate temp readings as well.

As you have the IP35 then you're probabl;y already overclocking slightly,

Use RealTemp or HW-monitor for temps, fan speeds and voltages etc.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I was going to say you're probably already overclocking slightly, Last time I used the IP35 if you cleared the CMOS and let it auto detect your cpu and set the clock speed it would detect it correctly then automatically add an extra 15 to the correct fsb
Ganted that was a c2d E6750, we tried it a couple of times to check, every time on reboot when left to auto detect, the ip35 would correctly detect the e6750 and that it should be running at 333mhz then bump the fsb to 348mhz
Or an over clock of +0.12ghz or 2.78ghz (stock for a e6750 is 2.66ghz)

You "should" be able to hit 3ghz with that q6600 without any hassle or major issue.
However if you have a stock intel cooler have a look into replaceing it.

Would recommend Everest too, and throw speedfan out it gives way to many dodgy readings to be truest worthy, as Pob, tried , to suggest.

Im running RealTemp at the moment, I'm no scientist, but I'm pretty sure this can't be possible:

No that's a bit off what it should be It's just a software error or a sensor fault. Try some different software and see how that goes.
