Did you use the standoffs (little screw in risers) or just screw the board straight to the metal ? Common cause for non-starting.....
Checked all power connections ? There will likely be both a 20/24 pin main ATX connector and a 4/8 pin secondary power connector that both require connecting ?
Also, check the power button wire from the case is the correct way round (polarity) as this can also be counter-intuitive !
Main: i5 2500K, AsRock Extreme4 Z68, 8GB Vengeance, Enermax Infiniti, 5850 1GB
Toys: Cowon J3 32GB, DIR-655, PS3 Slim, HTC Desire, HDC-SD1, Slingbox, Synology DS109j, Asus Transformer + dock
You say you've been trying to "boot it up all day but it won't power up" Does that mean there's no power to the motherboard whatsoever or is there power but the pc fails to boot?
As kevpuk said, make sure you're not short circuiting the motherboard (i.e. the motherboard is not connected to the case physically) and also make sure the 20/24 pin ATX connector (the biggest connector) and the 4/8 pin is connected to the motherboard.
You could try taking a photo of what it's like at the moment for us to spot errors.
In addition to the above is it plugged in and turned on at both the plug and the back of the PSU ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Tnx for ur replies guys
I will be honest to you I had no clue which cable is going where, this Mobo is ultra complicated compared to what Ive used in past, maybe not for you guys lol
I still dont know if ive connected all cables right but everything seem to work, Cables still seem a mess and one of PSU's cable is too short to reach its connector which is completely on other side of Mobo
apart from that it seems ok taking it back to Microdirect tomorrow to resolve issue of short cable.
Feel free to call me noob and guess which cable is going where, like I said it boots now but not sure if cables r connected at right places. Have to collect my Gigabyte GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 PCI-E DVI HDTV Out tomorrow with some more components then all set to go.
What are you having problems with? Everything? If it boots it cant be all that bad.
If you give us some specific problems we will be able to help more efficiently .
From the gigabyte site, the board looks pretty straight forward and no you're not a noob, everyone has to learn at some point.
Does this help ?

This was my first ever build with a UD5 and an Antec 300 a few months ago.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
it boots now but nothing comes up on monitor says NO INPUT SIGNAL on screen, PC powers up, all fans start, few LED start as well but something is still not connected properly :'(
No input to monitor means that it is not receiving a signal from the graphics card. This could be as simple as not having the cables plugged in properly or the GPU card not seated or powered correctly.

seems ok tbh iam still struggling
after some more tests i think one of power cable for graphics card is faulty
That certainly sounds like a possible cause given the symptoms you describe.

Or possibly Atari.
