Planning to after I am back from Holiday (3 weeks) to upgrade my rig to a i7 box.
Looking for good overclocking and SLI / Crossfire support.
Currently looking at the following kit :
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5
i7 920
6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 7-7-7-20
CMPSU-750HXUK - 750W Corsair 750HX PSU, ATX, EPS12V, Modular, UK Version - 7 Year Warranty (very efficient and good reviews, Anything better for the same price?)
Coolermaster Centurion 590
Going to keep my GTX 260 until I see what Nvidia come out with (if at all) at the end of the year, Really want a dual GPU card.
Will also carry over my sound card, hard drives and optical drive.
Before I get the answers I am expecting, such as why not go Lynfield or go for cheaper memory the lower latency doesn't make much difference ect.
The answer is simple, epeen++, Have money, will spend
And I want a upgrade path to Gulftown
Also went for the chassis as it is layed out as I prefer, Dont like having the hard drives side mounted, blocks to much air, and I prefer the PSU at the bottom with a lot of airflow at the top around the CPU area (Heat rises)
Look like a sound build?
