i really don't wanna cancel it though, mainly cos of some of the features it has..
i'm just a bit worried about them putting the date back another week. adding an extra week onto an already 6 week deadline isn't a good sign, surely?

Certainly suggests they've either got stock problems or they're allowing for postal disruption somewhere, which I wouldn't have thought would be an issue with packages so much, but dunno.

i think i'll follow your advice and give them a ring tomorrow, see if they can explain what's going on..
if they can't, i guess i'm just gonna have to be patient.

I wouldnt worry too much you will get it (eventually) trouble is with Dell if you want something quickly you have to speak V nicely to them, and see if there feeling nice, and can actually speed up the process.

You think its bad waiting for yours? I had to wait a long time for my XPS a few years ago!

Possibly, I wouldnt get your hopes up to much, just explain that you need it urgently for something, and that it has been pushed back a few times, could they please prioritse the order, or something to that effect.

Iirc I think I had to wait 6-7 weeks, and that was even though it came through where I used to work, and we had a very big account with dell.

    Re: Dell Delivery..

they are pretty good, although the last couple I have had have come in later in the afternoon - I beleive it all comes in Walsh Western to a warehouse in Hinckley (midlands) from Ireland and then is distributed to Business post from there.

TBH, walsh western are now called Syncreon or something...
Please do not message me about Scan Free shipping, I no longer work for HEXUS.net

yeah, it's saying 'order dispatched from hub' in the order status page, and the location is listed as Hinckley..

i'd also like to add that anyone else ordering a Dell Mini 10 might find this site useful when checking their order status

    Re: Dell Delivery..

Dad ordered from them last week with expected delivery mid-November. It's much later than we'd of liked but as has been said above they usually manage to deliver it it sooner.

On the business side Dell's usual lead-time is 7-10 working days and 9/10 the machines arrives in 6-7 wkdays. TFT's are often an issue when it comes to stock and it can take a good month or so for stock issues to be resolved.

    Fingers crossed yours arrives today!

    Re: Dell Delivery..

Walsh Western seem to be Dell's only delivery partner.

Never had any problems with them, but I have also never had anything else but Dell stuff come from them!
