need help choosing a sff case
it's been decided that my aging computer needs replacement.
the replacement is going to be an i5 based system using the Gigabyte GA-P55 UD2 as the mobo.
I've got the rest of the components chosen and it's down to the case now.
the best one I can find is the SUGO sg03, but I was hoping that someone could point me in a cheaper direction. The only real alternate is CoolerMaster elite 341, though i've not really seen any in stock.
My backup alternative is the antec mini p180, but it's not really that mini and kinda defeats the whole purpose.
anyway the case has to be able to fit a full hight pcb, and have enough length to fit an ati 5700.
pref. it to have the compacity for 2 5 1/4 drives but it's not really important tbh.
Re: need help choosing a sff case
I agree it defeats the object as you say, but the P180 mini is the best case I've ever owned. I have a Silverstone TJ08 which is another very good buy at £40 which is what I paid but perhaps not at it's current price tag.
The small tower (with 120mm fans) is the way to go though. Keep them spinning slowly and you get an awesome quiet system which stays cooler than a lot of full size towers.
Re: need help choosing a sff case
cheers for the heads up, Looks like i'm gonna be going with that case, So far the specs that I've chosen are:
CPU Intel Core i5 750 retail £150.00
Case Silverstone Tg08 £54.00
Mobo Gigabyte UD2 £83.60
HDD Seagate 7200.12 £36.17
RAM G-Skill Ripjaw blue £80.49
PSU CoolerMaster £57.49
ROM Samsung-TS-H653N £16.22
Total 477.97
just need to choose a grfx card, though it's looking more and more like a 5770, as soon as I choose to kill my 4650
