NEC Drive problems

anyone have problems wth NEC DVD Rom drives ?

me and a freind both have trouble with reading disks, im now finding that my NEC 2500a writes at 4x even though im usung 8x Ritek G5 disks....

wish i'd never bought it now ..

Have you flashed to the latest firmware and everything? GO5s aren't all they're cracked up to be from what I hear.

Have you tryed using a different brand/type of media as sometimes the dvdr isnt as compatible as others

my 3500 died after 5 weeks yesterday dam thing, discs dont spin up or get read

I've got the NEC ND1300A (4x dual format) and it does quite often record at 2.4x on 4x media... Yet to find a solution, I always assumed it was the software or something
