Re: New PC Build £700 Max
I cannot see the spec you have posted!!
I would modify existing build by replacing the HD4850 with an HD5850 if it fits.
The X3 720 should do the job fine too!! :)

Wow TinyVisiontm.
Looks OK. There was an interesting discussion in your price range below.

Can you stretch to a 5850 ? I think you've gone for an OC 260...

Yeah im selling this machine as I got a decent offer for it
And i think ive fixed the link
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
I would probably get a cheaper motherboard and go for an HD5850. You will need to save around £50 more although you will save at least £10 as you get free postage from Scan since you have 20+ posts on Hexus.
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
Whats better a GTX260 or HD5770?
I dont think I could stretch to a HD5850
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
I'm confused, your spec above shows ~£130 for the GPU. In that price bracket you could get a HD4890.

If you were wealthier the 5850 is ~£200

Edited. I'd take the 5770 even though it performs on a par with the 260, it's cooler.
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
If you get a Phenom II X4 955BE and a Gigabyte AM3 770 chipset motherboard you will save something along the lines of £40 and you could easily fit an HD5850 into your budget.
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
Id rather not go the AMD route again just now.
Intel seems more promising.
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
So for GPU what one should I get,
GTX260 or HD4890 or HD5770?
Cant really go for the HD5850
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
You can, and you will, get a 5850. :) Unless having 500GB of space is not enough for you. :( On and I forgot the optical drive... crap, so add on another £16, or alternatively recycle the an old one from another machine. Even if you have an IDE one it should do you fine for a wee bit.

Get a VX550W instead and the build should be roughly in budget with the free postage and £20 saving on the PSU.
The HD5850 has lower power consumption as an HD4890 IIRC so the VX550W should be powerful enough.

Thanks. Didn't think of that. I tend to just give 650W as minimum to all machines I spec. ;)
Re: New PC Build £700 Max
Yep, I'm happy with that. VX should be enough, even rememberd the Optical Drive this time. :)

Re: New PC Build £700 Max
Well I think we have a winner thanks Nightkhaos.
Would that motherboard be up to overclocking?
