Mine gets unstable if I reduce core voltage, so I'd guess that increasing core voltage should help it become more stable. The stock voltage for the Sempron 140 is 1.35V, and I think the stock for the Athlon II X2s are 1.45V, so it might be worth giving it a 0.1V bump on VCore. I can't remember the exact setting off hand, but I could check for you (I have the same motherboard!).

Right - some settings for you as an example (caution advised - if anyone messes up something - don't blame me). Please note my motherboard is rated to take CPUs up to 140w. Many motherboards won't cope with taking a Deneb with power consumption this high. Check with your motherboard manufacturer - worst case mosfets melt and / or BOOM. Any overclocking should be done gradually and patiently - pushing higher a little at a time and testing higher settings.

Mine was completely unstable unlocked at auto voltages and speeds. Currently running 1.425 vcore (as set - reads 4.7ish in speedfan) and +300mv vCPU-NB at 3.3GHz, 2.1GHz (NB), 1.8GHz (HT) (stock for phenom II 940 is 1.175 vCPU-NB so about 1.475 *I hope*. More worryingly stock for the Athlon X2 5000+ 45nm is 1.4. I don't really want to be running 1.7v. Have emailed my mainboard manufacturer for clarification but hey - it's a cheap chip :)). I needed to give RAM voltage a boost too to get stable at higher speeds. Also bumped up v NB Core and v NB PCI-E by 50mv each. These settings are solid for me. Prime Blend passes 8 hours. IBT (5x) and S&M (standard test) both pass. I had to work hard to get my temps down, installing a new intake fan from the 5.25" bays below my optical drive (my CPU cooler is an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 64 but in all honesty I think these chips need something more when overclocked).

While looking for stability, keep CPU-NB speed (don't forget the frequency as well as multiplier) in the 1800 to 2100 range (if it's too low errata occur and you'll BSOD). Drop HT Frequency and RAM speed right down and manually set your RAM timings to the loosest recommended by your manufacturer. If you find stable settings for the CPU you can gradually bump everything back up.

Please note - I've never managed to get the CPU stable as a quad at the standard 2.2GHz (+ 1.6GHz NB/HT). I got here by clocking what I thought was a duff chip so caution went somewhat to the wind). First stable settings I found were about 3.0 GHz.

Keep an eye on temps as well as voltages. AMD recommend maximum 1.5v for both vCore and vCPU-NB on air. Maximum overall CPU temp (not individual cores) is 62°C but I would say if you get over 55° much you need lower voltages or better cooling.

Edit: S&M is a great test for this. It wouldn't run at all until I'd got the CPU-NB stable. Careful with S&M though. Temps go a fair bit higher than Prime95.

Ahhh all these factors are so confusing. Why cant it be so simple liek Core 2 and to a lesser extent Core i3/5/7 :( So i should try:
CPU: 1.425
CPU-NB (WTF is this BTW): ?
NB: 1.25v (?)

CPU-NB is the memory controller and L3 cache on the CPU die.

vCore gives power to the actual CPU cores, plus the L1 and L2 cache.
