I like the look of the P6T SE, but I dont think that supports the i5 1156.

I was considering the Asus P7P55D, Intel P55 Express. (which is a ATX motherboard?)

Also Im not sure about the triple channel ram.. Does the i5 even support triple channel ram, or is it all down the which motherboard I choose?
Its socket 1366. It's faster and more future proof.

Re: Choices Choices (Intel - AMD, £800)

The above build looks good but how much gpu power does the OP need? The 5850 was already on the cards and the OP said this build was for gaming and graphics design so I don't think downgrading on it is a good idea, especially when the i5 is a very powerful processor as it is. It's up to the OP to decide whether they need the extra power of the i7 or not but I personally think the i5 and the 5850 was a good combination.

Re: Choices Choices (Intel - AMD, £800)

    Thanks guys,

Im really in a pickle now

I had pretty much decided on this

Before nibbler showed me that at the exact same price .

I honnestly dont know which one to go for now.. I mean obviously the 5850 would be better for gaming and I'd probably be disapointed by the 5770, but the 920 D0 is really future proof.
Although is the 550w antec enough if I wanted to add a better video card and a second harddrive in the future?

Im going to have a smoke and think about it..

They BOTH are future proof. You will be happy with the i5 750, and you will be happy with the i7 920. The problem I see however is that you will NOT be happy with the 5770.

On that logic, go for the i5 750.

Re: Choices Choices (Intel - AMD, £800)

yes, you're probably right. Im kind of torn between multi-tasking / photoshop and gaming, but the i5 should be more then enough for quite awhile, while its a big leap from the 5770 to the 5850 in gaming graphics. Thanks

    Good boy xD

Well yeah, at taht res its worth getting 5850 cos it'll destroy crysis at that res as opposed to just getting minimum playable fps with the 5770. Happy building
