new build
hello
i am about to start my very first build,i have bought some new bits but most of the bits will be from my other computer, the new bits are:
cpu-amd 2500+
mobo-abit nf7-s v2
akasa carnival heatsink/fan
new atx case
when i build it i am going to try and overclock the chip to run at 3200+ speeds if possible my question is will it run with samsung pc2100 memory
ido intend to get some more memory probaly geil pc3200 ultra copper unless someone has any other suggestions
thanks edster

Since PC2100 is 133mhz and the 3200+ runs at 200mhz, the chances of overclocking that far aren't very good in my opinion. You should be able to run the 2500+ at slower speeds though (i.e. lower FSB).

would i have to run it at 133fsb or could i run it at stock speed(166fsb)
i donot want to o/c the memory

the memory is synchronous to the front side bus. It is possible to run it asynchronous but it's never really done on AMD systems.
get some high quality DDR400 RAM so you can set your FSB to 200MHz which is what the CPU(hopefully)/Motherboard allows you to do.
3200+ speeds = 11 x 200
