All intel chips have factory locked multipliers. Without decent air cooling your fsb won't go too high, and if you really want to get the fsb up you might nee to raise the core voltage.

"Your fsb won't go to high with a 3 ghz northwood" is what I meant, as a 2.4 northwood is a different story.

You should be able to get the 3.0 up to about 3.6 by increasing the fsb to 240, but you might need better cooling than the stock intel HSF, eg Zalman 7000AlCu and it's quiet too.

You'll need to set the memory divider to 5:4 as you won't be able to run that memory synchronously (1:1). If you successfully crank the fsb to 250 then the memory will be running at spec speed of 200; anything under 200 will be fine, anything over and you're running it above spec so totally depends on the memory, but I doubt you'll get the 3.0 above 250fsb on air cooling!

3200LLPT should run to about 230 fsb (it is the same chips as their PC3500)

i was getting 3.0 from a 2.4 @250 fsb 100% stable, or 3.1-3.2 generally ok or 3.5 when i had it connected to a vapo. my 3.2 is running perfectly fine at just over 3.5 on stock air, not sure what the vapo will make it into though

afaik the only intel chips which have adjustable multipliers are the engineering sample (ES) ones.. which you cant sell/buy as they remain property of Intel... not quite sure how people get their hands on them really

I had the same problem with my DFI LAN party board. You have to set up the raid when you install windows XP. In the beginning of the installion windows will ask the question are you installing raid or SCSI. At that point it will tell you to hit one of the F Keys, I don't remember which one. You should have your floppy in the drive at this point as will. Follow the instruction on the screen and you should be ok.
