Corsair or Enermax are the safe bets in my experience.

Corsair HX-750W and 850W are Gold certified for efficiency and should have enough power.

(By the way, I would recommend Samsung F3 for the hard drive, brand does matter! )

Also, why not get 6gb RAM ? The difference in price isn't that much.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Re: What PSU shud i get for system i am building?!?!

A decent 500W to 600W PSU will be more than enough for the job unless you going for a Crossfire setup. You do realise that an HD4890 has higher power consumption than an HD5850 and even the HD4870 1GB probably also has higher power consumption than an HD5850 too.

If you're spending that much on a system, the increase to 6GB RAM really shouldn't be a problem.

It would be a major weakpoint on that rig in my eyes.

Re: What PSU shud i get for system i am building?!?!

A good 500w would be enough for ether, the emphasis on GOOD, you're looking at around £60
If you want to add in a 2nd graphics card later then your looking at 700w to be safe.

    safe bet brands are
Corsair, enermax, be quiet, seasonic, Antec (not the basiq)

Re: What PSU shud i get for system i am building?!?!

I just got the big brother of this http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/550W-...-80plus-Bronze

Semi-Modular system is really sensible, all the cables you will most likely use (2 x PCI-E, 1 x 3 plug SATA, 1 x 4 plug molex and mobo connectors) are all hard wired and it comes with 4 additional ports to connect more sata/molex/PCI-E should you need them. It has rock solid voltages + its very quiet so it definately gets my vote

It is a little more pricey than a completely non-modular PSU such as
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/550w-...anty-see-specs
    or
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/500W-...ready!-24-740C

I would avoid silverstone and coolermaster as the fans they use tend to be a bit on the noisey side

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...500SXS-UK.html
is what i usually recomend to people who want to save some cash
