That's awesome!
I would love to see a 5970 and a massive Thermalright CPU cooler plugged into it :p
The DFI motherboard with a Core i7 860 and and HD5770 would form the basis of a very powerful SFF PC in a Silverstone Sugo SG05 or SG06 case!! :)
Looks like my upgrade is sorted then. The Zotac 9300-WiFi is nice but the lack of USB wake and it's mere 2 SATA ports meant I was likely to upgrade to the new version of that board with a Q9400 or similar. Depending on price I'll nab this and an i7 instead :)
That is very special :D
Ummm there is a new revision of the Zotac board that just came out. The old one was GF9300-D-E and the new one is GF9300-G-E. They added a third sata port (so 3 sata + 1 esata) and solved the W-O-Usb problem.
But still I think I'll wait for this board if the priced is good
What about mATX P55 or even a cheap mATX P45?
Got to say though that is one nice mini-ITX board!
Hit past 1000 posts and didn't notice it!
Holy :censored: that's insane.
DFI do like doing this sort of thing, they've got a combo p45 & atom+ion motherboard as well
Yes that's basically a atom+ion mini itx motherboard shoehorned onto an ATX so you basically have two seperate pc's on one motherboard.
It\'s going in that Lian Li case :D
This board is everything and more then expected, it leaves the Zotac for dead in terms of it\'s flexibility.
When are Scan going to stock it?
want :| in an sg05. if only this had come out 6 months ago
Should be nice if paired with the upcoming lower power consumption lynnfield chips. the i5xxxs series i think I read, with 82W TDP.
Been told by OcUK that it is doubtful they will stock this. And Scan have said nothing in this thread...

Wow, that is one beast of a board haha. I\'d love to see a 5970 and a massive tower cooler or something on it like snootyjim pointed out.
:surprised: Looks like the GF9300-G-E is already obsolete - now there's the GF9300-I-E. It seems to be just the new features of the G-E but with an overclocked GPU:

Now that's what I call a short life cycle...:)
Only problem is no where has it in stock.
Just got an email from DFI. :D

So does this mean that Scan are receiving the board this week?
When I spoke to them on Thursday they knew nothing about it.
Has anyone seen a thread where the board has been installed in a SG05 case by any chance? Any known problems with either the fit or the 300W PSU limitation?
Still not on the Scan site even though they're supposed to have had them since Tuesday.
Yeah beginning to wonder if this is EVER going to make an appearance over here.
I have been debating whether to use one of these or a 775 set up when i get the money in from selling my Atom systems in the next week or so, as i can't wait too long the way things are going it looks like there wont be any choice.
It's been available for some time i gather just about everywhere else but not here in the UK .
Just had this reply from Scan.
Quite why its under NDA i don't know, its up on DFI's website you can buy it elsewhere around the globe, it's almost as if they want us to buy it elsewhere??Quote:
This motherboard is currently under NDA and has not been released as yet. Please continue to check the web site in the New Year for this release.
Spoke to Scan today and they said the items are still under NDA.
Seems they don't know they're on sale all over Europe.
Think I'll place my order via Germany later on today.
There's no NDA on the DFI board, it's been public for a while now.
What does NDA stand for? non-disclosure agreement?
Yes.
Or perhaps in this case....
Nobody Does Anything?
I'll get my coat.....
Finally it's there.....

Cool, now all i need is the money to clear from the sale of my systems and i can buy one :).
Here is a review:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mot...board-review/1
This has my interest. I am just starting to think about upgrading and downsizing at the same time as my P182 is a big fellow! One of these in a case that holds a decent sized gfx card (5850 or whatever the nvidia equivalent may be) along with 4gb of ram (the only downside, I would like to have put 8gb in this time round just for a giggle) and I would be very happy!
Glad to here there will be a P55 version. I may hold out for a while. As for modding, the days of cutting up shuttle cases is past. I have done it before and it's no fun!
Does anybody has this board because I'm having some issues with it.
So here's the config
DFI P55
i5 at stock speed
OZC 4GB Gold Edition 1066 (OCZ3G10664GK)
Samsung Spinpoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB
XFX HD5850 Black Edition
D-Link DWA-140 USB Network Adapter
Win 7 64
And the issues are:
1.When shutted down for a while, and started, Windows start ok but after a couple seconds in desktop the hard drives seems to stop (no crunching sounds) and I get a screen full of vertical gray bars.
2. When left on sleep for a while and restarted, it won't reboot into windows, it will only restart over and over again and the display don't open. After pulling the plug (because it's the only thing that stops the thing) it boots ok like in hibernating mode but takes more time to do so than a full boot from shut down process.
I checked memtest for a couple of hours without errors. When playing games for hours I don't get errors or anything else from the 5850. I'm guessing the hdd with Win7. I will try with a different hdd soon to see .
If I remember correctly I did not change anything in the bios appart from memory that was locked on 800 and I locked it on 1067 (weird thing isn't supposed to be 1066?) But I don't think it could be that since the issues are only on cold boot. I'll try to unplug all usb devices to see if it has something to do.
Also if I remember correctly, with the gray bar thing, the LED POST display nothing but the usual AA code wich is what it display in a normal working state. For the sleep issue, it has a sequence full of D# (the number change 2-3 times) that keeps repeating. For sleep I did not moved the jack to enabled USB and/or PS2 wake on lan. It's something I could try too. And there is nowhere I could find a guide for LED POST which is a shame when you include it as a feature in a board, could you please add in your board manual all the codes to make this feature useful?
I wonder when the Zotac H55-ITX will come out??
It would be a good basis for an SFF build!!
Thanks a lot for the POST url!
I did a "Load Optimal Setup" in the bios and now the problems seem to be gone :)
