Hi i have had a look around the forums to see if i can see any similar problems anyware but havent found any but soory if this has already been posed in the past
Ok so iv read around loads of places to find out how to oc my cpu, and now i have finaly got a good idea of how to do it and when i do it it doesnt work, it just powers up the fans but the screen dosent come on and the bios doesnt run, (even after leaving it for 15mins a couple of times to see if it did anyfin) i have to end up turning it off and clearing the cmos, luckly my Mboard has a button for this on the back once you have turned off the psu
I'v got a intel quad q6600 @ 2.4Ghz and 1.3v (stock)
Zalman CNPS9700 cooler
iv got sum crapy ram but plan to upgrade that next payday so i know this will need improving to get a good allround performance and not bottleneck
iv got a xfx nforce 750i sli motherboard
an a xfx gtx 295
multiplier is 9 and stock FBS is 1066mhz
iv read mixed reviews on the 750i some say it doesnt always oc verywell others say its brilliant, iv also read it has a FBS 'hole' wich is diff for each board, that it just wont work at but i dont know if that would cover a 300mhz range?
so far iv tried
FBS: 1155 wich works out at 2.6Ghz
FBS: 1244 wich works out at 2.8Ghz
FBS: 1333 wich works out at 3Ghz
FBS: 1422 wich works out at 3.2Ghz (this is what i'm aiming to get upto in the end)
and iv tried all these at voltages
1.3v
1.325v
1.35v
1.375v
1.4v
(iv read going above 1.4v for everyday useage can damage the cpu)
evertime i get the same result, after altering the FBS and Vcore, i go to the main menu on the bios and select save and exit and it just goes blank, nothing happens, so iv tried restarting it, completly powering off and then starting up and it doesnt work lol
iv got what is according to xfx the latest bios aswell
so im kinda stumped as i cant find anything else around saying anyfin on this happening, just places saying keep trying diff ones, but from what iv read i would of expected one of them to work by now even if it was unstable
