    Re: MEDION® Akoya® P8610 HD - £700.00

6 GB ram is triple channel used mainly in socket 1366 i7 CPUs so u wont need it here. 18" laptop is very big, never really understood the point in anything above 16" myself as you might aswell just have a desktop.

Resolution is a little weak for a laptop of that size, as is the CPU. I would also check t see if its elegible for a windows 7 free upgrade.

    Re: MEDION® Akoya® P8610 HD - £700.00

    hi

thanks for the replay, i,m looking for a desktop replacement as i keep moving around very frequently.

not bothered about windows 7 upgrade as i already have it

i did wander about the cpu but its seems quick enough as mostly will be office work and the occassinal game there and there.

if there is something else better or match it i,m open to suggestions, how ever i do need one asap and dell are taking too long for me which is why i,m cancelling my order with them 1st thing tommorow.

    Thanks

This one does but its back to 18.4" and is considerably more money

Is blu ray a necissity as that seems to be something which rams up the cost. You could always get an E-SATA one ?

http://www.ebuyer.com/search?sort=pr...imit=10&page=1 Here is a look at all the Blu Ray laptops on ebuyer anyhoo

thats actully a great find, slightly speccier then mine with the HD and Bluetooth and offcourse more screen inches.

but the 4cell batter is bit poor, imagine taking this beast off the power, it will die in 25 mins

    Re: MEDION® Akoya® P8610 HD - £700.00

you can always get a new 6 cell battery seperate if you need it. I dont think any amount of battery is going to help you with a laptop liek that though unless you carry abound a huge backpack battery I think they just admitted defeat and stuck int he bare minimum.

have a look on notebookcheck they have a fair few reviews and concentrate alot on screen and build quality.

For £700 there must be alot of competition. Argos funnily enough also have some good deals!
