i7 920 rig

I have been thinking about upgrading from:

6000+ X2
4GB 800MHz ram
geforce 275gtx (will port it over)
7200 AKS 500GB WD

to:

i7 920
decent mobo
6gb corsair ram
decent cooler

What motherboard & cooler do you have or like the look of? I previously "didn't scrimp" on the M2N32 SLI DELUXE and it lasted me for years and still beats my current 'newer' motherboard in the reviews, lol.

I'm not particularly bothered about some of the mad gubbins these new gamer motherboards come with. I do want a solid, future proof, preferabely non UV sensitive coated motherboard.

UV sensitive ? Is it going in a skeleton case ?
But for a MoBo I would recommend the Gigabyte UD5 or the Asus P6T Deluxe or the MSI X58 Platinum.

Your choice of cooler would depend on whether or not you're overclocking. I assume you will be, so recommend the Megahelens, Noctua U12 or True 120 for air cooling. You may want to look at the new sealed water cooling solutions like the Corsair H50.

Yeah, these water cooling things look pretty cool, I've heard of people swapping on the supplied fan's with decent quieter ones aswell. I like the look of the X58 Platinum, i'll get reading reviews.
