    Question dvd-rw requirements...will it run on a 800 p3?

    a mate of mine is thinking of buying a dvd-rw drive (probably this: Asus DRW-0804P 8x DVD±R/±RW Drive - Retail (CD-008-AS) ) from overclockers. he wants to know if it will run on a p3 that has 256mb ram and is about 500-800 mhz...
    cheers

    It probably will, though I'm not certain.

    If it will - I can't imagine him getting 8x out of it.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    should work fine, i got a nec 2500 8speed running on a P3 450MHz, 192MB Ram.

    Works fine on 4 speed although sometimes the read buffer goes up and down alot but it doesn't effect the burn
