I would go for the 160gb version or the 320gb version with vists...both currently around the £190 mark from ebuyer
then upgrade to windows 7 using the acer upgrade program for abotu £15 P&P

There is also the Dual core 250gb version for about £240 already with windows 7

Acer are bring out a dual core version however its not out (in the uk) yet. Also the acer one does not have a media drive in it. I would get the asus EB1501-B0117 dabs link here, as it is dual core has more memory, a bigger drive, a DVD and 2 GB of memory. However is double the price of the Acer revo I am using at work.
Surely the Dual core, 500gb HDD, 4gb RAM revo with Windows 7 for around £290 is far better value?

My word I sound like an ebyer/Acer Revo salesman!

Depends if you want a DVD drive in the thing. If you don't your right the Acer is better, I didn't know that one was out. You do want the dual core really, work just got 16 of the single core ones, fine for our work (upgrade from terminals... no really) like office and internet duty, however the dual I miss my dual core when I am at work.

I'd generally agree with this. You often end up using PCs for more demanding tasks than originally intended.

for instance: I got a new laptop a while ago thinking I'd only ever use it for web surfing and office tasks, but it's been increasingly used for "casual" gaming, and now I wish I'd got something with a lot more oomph!
