I think the focus here is obviously on the huge gains made with unlocking the processor.
however - a word of warning if you use the article too closely as an example. I have just learned that the MSI 785GTM-E45 they use doesn't allow you to alter vcore. Now for me, I was gutted as I wanted to undervolt the CPU for a low power HTPC. I know nothing about overclocking AMD processors (and very little about overclocking full stop for that matter...) but I presume having at least some control over vcore would be helpful when trying to ramp speeds up
At least some of the the other MSI 785G boards can alter vcore though, so something to research if you want to go down that path.
