I chuffing love my Liteon CDRW...

I hate the fact that the morons that run the record industry choose to 'Copy Protect' their CDs and force the majority of people to play them with some crappy little media player on they chuck on the disk and try to make it impossible to rip to MP3, which is a big problem if you have an MP3 player like me...that is unless you have a Liteon drive My CDRW has no problems making a perfect rip (no blips at all) of copy protected CDs allowing me to get one up on the record industry. It brings a smile to my face everytime...

So if anyone has this problem and is in the market for a new drive I'd go Liteon if I were you.

I always recommend Lite-On drives. They're rather good.

the record industry still wins. why? because corrupted cds are less reliable and not resistant to scratches

so legit buyers find their cds wear out fairly quickly and need to buy a replecement.

    CDRs are 20p max

so even if it lasts 1/50th of the time of a normal cd, its still a tenner, cheaper than the 15 quid HMV charge

for this reason people will always copy cds while theres a way around it, even if it breaks, WHO CARES!? its not like u paid full price and lost 15 quid, people dont mind if the qualitys a bit off as long as they get their stuff cheap

i dont download music no more, as im on 56k and cba basically, i just buy cds now - better quality, and the packagings all nice, sooner have it in my cd collection and if you have a girl round and listen to some music as well, she isnt goin to be impressed by the amount of silver tops you have, lol. real musics the way to go for quality and a better feel, but as it costs nothing to do, people arnt gonna stop burning.

on a lighter note, lite on rule, i love my drive much better than the old drive it replaced.

i used to buy cds, i don't anymore.

my lite-on drive will rip corrupted cds fine, but i don't agree to paying more for an inferior product.

i only wish there were online music stores other than Warp Records' Bleep.com which offered DRM-free high quality downloads

All I did was close the "nifty" little program that played the music on a copyprotected cd and open it in windows media player to rip away to play on my mp3 player, although that means its in .wma

Does that mean my MSI 52x32x52 is as good as your Lite-On or what do you consider "ripping"?

I still say BUY CD's!!!! Because it's the business I want to get in to, and we are all killing my future with downloads

swek, you ain't gonna make a living from £0.20 a disc minus recording costs.

artists make their money from live gigs, they never see more than a couple f pounds from CD sales after the record industry are finished with them.

Do you know of anywhere at all that allows me to pay for music Hex? At a cheaper rate than buying a CD...?
