A quick question, if I used Seagates utility to low level format my uncle's drive to remove the virus, will this utility work on non - seagate drives?

From what I have heard, an less you some how got hold of a proper low level format utility, then its not really a low level format, and I doubt it will work on other drives if you got it from seagate. But other manufacturers offer formating utilities as well

if you are looking for a formatter. try http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
its a bit of a big download (45 meg) but it has *lots* of useful tools
Thanks for the advice guys!
Be careful with Low Level formats.
With some HDD manafacturers this will invalidate your warranty.
But all HDD tools should work with all HDD's. (Maxtors on Seagates, Seagates on IBM's etc)
