Hi all,
As title says has anyone used one of these cards or know of a review? it is the model with the large single fanned heat spreader.

You can get an HD4890 1GB for around £130 which will be faster in most games anyway:

I looked at that but on the COD 4 review on techspot the 260 beat the 4890 on every test even the 2560x1600 test.
I didnt see the point in spending the extra money on a card that doesnt perform as well.

Well, if your buying the card for 1 specific game, why ask when you already know how the card perform in that 1 game?
Cats advise is good, the 4890 is a fair bit better then the GTX260 overall.

I dont know i suppose i am an Nvidia boy, judging by your system you prefer ATI. I wasnt asking for alternatives to the card i was asking for how this card performs against other 260's there are so many and you can pay either £120 up to about £190 for a 260, i am simply asking is the ASUS up to spec or is there a reason why it is up to £80 cheaper.

I am 100% vendor neutral. I only buy the best bang-for-buck at the time of purchase, or the device that does the job best.
Anyone who buys hardware based on the manufacturer alone, is a fool IMO.
As for that specific card, I beleive it's pretty much stock speeds and therefore will be cheaper then the pre-overclocked cards and the cards with more extensive software bundles. If I really wanted a GTX260, I see no reason why not to buy the one you listed.

Cheaper cooler and less complex PCB:

This GTX260 is far better for a few quid more:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/179590
It has the superior dual sot reference cooler which vents the exhaust out of the case.
BTW the HD4890 challanges the much more expensive GTX275 in more demanding games like Crysis. The fact the GTX260 only has 896MB of RAM means that it will start to struggle at 2560X1600 with newer titles. Look at the reviews. I can never understand all this brand loyalty as it does not help in the end TBH. I have always owned the fastest card overall(not just one game) for my budget irrespective of what company designs it.
BTW,my graphics history is listed in this thread in the opening post:
